New Review! Deke (Fake Boyfriend #3) by Eden Finley 4.5 Cranky Stars

Deke (Fake Boyfriend, #3)Deke by Eden Finley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Cranky Stars

Sweet Neil Patrick Harris Ollie and Lennon stole my heart. They are by far my favorite couple. They knew who they were, but one was afraid to risk his career over it.

Ollie was a gay player in the NHL well his family knew he was out, but the league didn’t. Only a few close friends on the team knew but he stayed quite and kept his head down. His past relationship suffered because he was afraid to lose his career. A chance encounter in a bathroom (not like that you kinky thing) has Ollie reaching out to a nerdy guy who makes his heart skip a beat. He asks the guy to please just pretend to be his boyfriend for the night to keep his family happy. Little does he know the guy he named Clark is someone who wrote an article that made Ollie angry. Now that they are getting to know each other they grow close and decisions must be made about the path of their future.

Lennon AKA Clark can’t keep his eyes off all the 6’4 muscular tattooed Nordic god in front of him. He knows all about Ollie Stromberg because he is a sports reporter. He knows he has wrote a few articles about Ollie but doesn’t think they were scathing and accusing. They come back together despite living in separate cities and keep up the ruse. When a friend notices them together and lets it slip who Lennon is past insecurities come to light. They are in too deep with their feelings and decide to see where they can go with this. When another player is forced to come out Lennon holds Ollies hand as he too comes out in in a show of solidarity.

Woo wee this book was steamy. I felt myself looking around wondering if anyone knew what I was reading was so naughty. Yet it was so much more. Lennon and Ollie are goals. They are so real and what happened to them could very much happen in the real world. I like that Ollie wasn’t afraid of who he was but he was cautious. I loved that Lennon was out and proud but knew that the sports world could easily discriminate against you to suit themselves. I think this is the best story so far and I can’t wait to see what else is in store.
