L.B. Dunbar has a way with words. She writes her characters in such a way that you either fall in love with them or want to be their best friend. She has done this again with Levi and Katie. Levi, oh dear sweet Levi, I just wanted to reach through the pages and hug him tightly to me. Katie is a relatable character that causes you to wish you had a friend like her in your life.



They have a shared past and come from the same small town. When they reunite years later, their lives are seemingly falling apart. The attraction is still there between them, and they try to deny it. This story kicked me in the feels, but then again Ms. Dunbar knows how to tug at the heartstrings. She takes you on an emotional rollercoaster.



Kate and Levy’s story is absolutely magical. I will recommend The History of Us to others. I give it 5/5 stars.
