New Review! Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill, 5 Cranky Stars
Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
***** 5 Cranky Stars *****
This book scared me but then again it's what to expect when Stephen King is your dad. While he's an awesome writer with small glimpses of his dad's writing he's all his own.
Jude had an odd collection of macabre items. He's also a musician with his platinum records scattered about his home. While perusing the ads for more items to add to his collection he comes across a list to "sell" this person's grandpa's ghost in the form of a Sunday suit. So he acquires this suit and becomes oddly uncomfortable and possessive of it. That's when the odd things start happening. It takes over his life.
This book was mesmerizing from the beginning. You go on this creepy journey with Jude. I have a fear of antiques and old things and this book solidified that fear.
This is a book you don't read alone and make sure the lights are on.
