New Review! The Keeper (Crossing Realms #1) by Rebecca E. Neely 5 Cranky Stars
The Keeper by Rebecca E. Neely

Well written and a “I can’t put it down” type of story. The Keepers live all over the country and keep humans safe from the Betrayers and the mayhem they spread. The Watchers live in another realm, an alternate dimension and keep track of what is happening. They send “compulsions” to the Keepers, telling them where they are needed next.
Libby is just an average human going to work everyday and hating every minute of her job. Today is even worse. She is late and caught in a traffic jam. She lost her mother when she was 10 and can’t stand being confined in tight spaces. Her anxiety mounts as the traffic just sits. Suddenly a good-looking guy comes walking towards her car. He tells her to roll down her window. Frightened at first, she complies, and her world is rocked to its core.
Nick introduces her to a new world. She is part Keeper and the magic manifests differently in her. She is terrified at first but soon accepts this new life. After all, she has Nick to get her through. The Betrayers are slowly draining away the magic that keeps the Watcher Realm alive. They have found a way to drain the Keeper network and the Keepers themselves. The Watchers send out one last compulsion telling the Keepers to keep Libby safe as she holds a key to everyone’s survival. If she can control her anxiety, she might be able to save them all.
