This was a laugh out loud book and it was just what I needed. I mean what could possibly go wrong when two sarcastic goofballs make an agreement that they’ll fake date to get his friends off his back and give her horse a place to live and graze in a field? Pandemonium and lots of laughs is what.

Lucy is a down on her luck nurse. She left her comfortable life in Wisconsin behind and moved to California for her career. Only problem is she comes with a horse named Gouda and boarding isn’t cheap. When she answers the message on a farmersonly.com site she knows that Edric is her ticket to horse pasture heaven. They meet and decide that they will do this but they can’t fall in love with each other that it’s just a means to an end. She didn’t expect to meet the male version of her and to fall hard. Yet her life isn’t all about a horse and a snarky boy it’s about facing problems bigger than her.

Edric hasn’t had much luck in the dating pool. I guess that’s what happens when you only date vapid, money hungry Instagram models. His friends decide to set him up on several dating profiles with no luck so their last ditch effort was a farming site. Edric is a rich city guy and has had a bad experience with a horse girl at one point but he goes anyway. What he meets is this larger than life woman who is like him in every way. He knows making this deal with her will be easy and get his friends off his back. He finds himself spending every day with Lucy and getting used to her horse. He didn’t expect his heart to become involved and he didn’t think he’d ever find himself volunteering to help her in the months to come.

I really liked the banter between Lucy and Edric. It reminded me of me and my husband at times. She was this loud personality and she was like the sun. Edric was a good egg. Minus the fact that he spent most of his time in his mansion in sweatpants he seemed to know what’s up. Two things that kind of made me kind of not like the book was the overuse of current slang. Maybe that’s just who they are and I’m old. Ok so yeah I’m old but still I wasn’t sure how old these characters should have been to be talking like this. Also the sex scenes that went on for pages and pages. I guess I’m a less is more person but hey you do you. I didn’t read the first two books about Adelaide and Ender so I certainly want to read those. If you are looking for a laugh out loud romantic book full of steam then read this book!!!
