Birdie and Ace are both victims of their pasts. She was treated as a plaything by her father who paraded her out to older men and he was treated like he was demon spawn by his father. Ace has been free for 5 years and makes a quiet living on the Beards of War MC compound. He runs a repair shop and cultivates the finest strains of marijuana. He is a simple man with no romantic entanglements because that is not his style. Birdie cons men for money in the many Vegas casinos not to pay bills or buy lavish gifts but it’s to keep a her past quiet. When Gypsy, Birdies sister, tasks Ace with keeping an eye on her sister he doesn’t realize the woman who looks like an angel with a body meant for sin and the personality of a destructive hurricane to knock him on his butt. She is sent to live with Ace while they dance around their intense sexual chemistry and his possessive ways. When the past comes back to haunt her, she must make a decision. Save herself or save those she loves because this is the first time Birdie has a lot to lose.


I went back and forth on this book. At times I couldn’t put it down then at times I wasn’t sure I wanted to keep going. The last few chapters had me riveted and I wish the book had been more of that. This isn’t just romance it’s raunchy as well. I liked that there was a mystery a who done it in this book and that’s what kept me riveted. Birdie was very immature for 20 years old but I know most 20 year olds aren’t wise but still she almost acted childish and I assume it’s due to her upbringing. She was volatile. Ace was a abrasive at times and I wasn’t sure about it. I know that’s just his nature since he is a beast of a man with a traumatic childhood but it seemed almost a bit much. Convict is perfect for those who love drama mixed in with the kinky and watching aggressive alphas fall to their knees over one woman.
