New Review! Hat Trick (Fake Boyfriend #5) by Eden Finley 4.5 Cranky Stars

Hat Trick (Fake Boyfriend, #5)Hat Trick by Eden Finley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Cranky Stars

I have been on this journey for five books now. I’ve experienced a wide range of emotions and cheered these guys on to their happily ever after. It’s fitting that we end this with Jet and Soren. Yet Hat Trick isn’t like the others these guys have known each other in the biblical sense and in the sense of them having mutual friends. They shared a magical night that changed them both yet went their separate ways. So there is no pretending here they truly like each other. This is their coming together and finding their HEA.

Jet is well on his way to rock and roll stardom. His band is opening for a well-known boy band and things are looking up, yet something is missing. He meets his brothers’ friend and sparks fly. What was supposed to be one night altered his life. When they meet again, he finds out that his someone has someone else now. He tries to replicate the feelings he had with Soren with someone else he’s close to but it doesn’t go well. He heads off to Fiji to meet with his brother and their friends to unwind and hide. He isn’t expecting his past to be staring him dead in the face looking all sexy on a sandy beach. Soren is miserable and about the point of aging out of the NHL. He lives for the ice but seriously how much longer can he continue? His relationship with the one he considered his hat trick has tanked. He finds himself in Fiji with all the other couples trying to unwind. All this happiness is making him surly until Jet shows up. He still remembers their night together. It was more than just sex to him. He tries to spend as much time with Jet as he can to get to know him beyond the obvious sexual chemistry they share. When an opportunity to be with Jet on the road arises, he jumps for it. He wants to prove he wants forever and will always be there to catch Jet after every show when he leaps off that stage no matter how sweaty he is.

I flove Jet and Soren. They make no sense, yet they do. I love that they have an age difference but that doesn’t hinder them and their love. Soren had his career and I loved that he wanted to be with Jet. Not his stage persona or the one he portrays to the world just the Jet that is himself when they are alone. Harley is a manipulative jerk and I’m sorry he’s alone, but man come on. This book is full of heart and soul and some steamy sexy times. I’m sad to see this series end but it’s been a good one. I didn’t know that when I jumped into book one, I was going for a wild ride with some sexy men who fiercely love each other to the end. They are a family and they make you feel like a part of it. Thanks, Eden Finley, for writing such awesome dudes!
