New Review! Tigress (Fated Mates #1) by Lilli Carlisle 4 Cranky Stars

Tigress (Fated Mates, #1)Tigress by Lilli Carlisle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 CRANKY STARS

This is a strange little story about shifters. It starts out with a tiger running through wolf lands and since that is against all rules, she is terrified for her life. When she hears pups screaming and crying, she knows she must intervene. And so, the story begins. Of course, she runs to help them and is attacked by hyenas. Gravely wounded, she is saved by the wolf pack. That is not a spoiler because this is just the first couple of pages, an epilogue of sorts.

I say it is strange because this tiger shifter has supposedly been held in a cage and experimented on her whole life. She has no memory of a previous life. This has been her first chance to escape her cage, so how does she know where she is and what the rules are here? This is just one of the inconsistencies of this story but otherwise it is entertaining. Of course, as in all the shifter stories I’ve read, she is discovered by her true mate or in this case mates. The intimate moments are described in quite explicit detail so I wouldn’t recommend this to young kids.

However, as an entertaining shifter story it was pretty good. Afterall, there is only so much you can write about shifters.
