A wonderful story about shifters that doesn’t feel like a shifter story. In the beginning you aren’t even sure why the people are being killed. The story is fast paced at first and takes you in. The children are sent to safety only to disappear. Then we fast forward seventeen years and it feels like a whole different story except the location is the same.
I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one day. I found it well written and spellbinding. The characters are confusing in a good way. You’ll see when you read it that first impressions aren’t always right. No wars, no explicit sex but danger and love prevail throughout the storyline. The gist of the story is that a young hiker goes up the mountain to find himself. Instead he finds a dragon and takes a fuzzy picture. Somehow, the picture gets published and the “dragon hunters” descend on this small mountain town. The sheriff goes crazy trying to keep everyone under control and then a female reporter shows up. He does all he can to get her to leave town, but she is determined to get some type of story out of this town, even if it’s just about the new doctor. A mystery, suspense and love story rolled into one. Do dragons really exist?
