New Review! Good Times (The French Quarter Collection #4) by Jiffy Kate 4.5 Cranky Stars

Good Times (French Quarter Collection #4)Good Times by Jiffy Kate
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Cranky Stars

I have adored this series since book one. I’m a sucker for a book set in my hometown of New Orleans. You can tell Jiffy Kate has a love for this vibrant city because it shows in their writing. The way they describe the city and its food and citizens makes you want to take a lazy walk around the French Quarter while eating delicious food. Good Times is the story of Georgette and Finley. Lovers from different upbringings who find each other again after many years.

Georgette feels stagnant in New York City with her art dealer job and mediocre boyfriend. Her life isn’t about living its about surviving. When she impulsively applies and accepts a job in Nola her life becomes fun again. She is working for Camille Benoit-Landry and she finally feels at home in this city with these people. In the back of her mind she’s always thought about Finley and their time together. What she doesn’t realize is that at a party her past would show up and she doesn’t know how to process this. Finley has been in Nola recognizing his dream of being a saxophone player. He knows the gigs aren’t the big time, but his love of the music is all he needs. He also busks on the corner of Royal. Fin has always thought of Jette even going as far to find her when she first left but ultimately, he wanted her to be happy and knowing she’s out in the world is all he needs. He didn’t expect the curly blonde beauty to appear at a party and he’s taken back. Jette is in his town and he will stop at nothing to have her again.

I really like Jette and Finley. Their love was so pure and innocent in a lot of ways. I guess because when they started they were just teenagers who experienced a lot of first together. I also love the crew of the French Quarter from CeCe and Shep to Shaw and Avery and Carys and the Blue Bayou crew. I didn’t like her parents or Trevor. Just saying his name is like blah. Jette and Finley are proof that two people from different sides of the track can be perfect for each other.
