New Review! The Diary of a Late Bloomer by L.M.L. Gil 5 Cranky Stars

The Diary of a Late BloomerThe Diary of a Late Bloomer by L.M.L. Gil
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 cranky stars

What a fantastic read, it had everything you wanted in it. Humour, romance, teenage hormones.

Poor Lo was socially challenged, she had never made friends through her school life. She was teased and bullied for being overweight. One thing she never did was to let them push her down.
Later when she went to college she decided to join the swim team, she was terrible. The coach saw something in her though and kept her on the team. Nick who had a mountain of OCD habits hadn't got friends but out of choice. Coach got him helping Lo with her swimming he was a good teacher and she slowly started to improve.

She hired Nick to help her to pass at Physics, which he did, he was a hard task master, always giving hard homework. She made friends with Britney at swim club and she took her to a concert where she met Martin. He had his own problems with his girlfriend, but Lo wanted him, even when he broke up with her, he never turned to her for that sort of comfort. He accepted her as a friend and a mate to go to concerts with. All very confusing for a late bloomer especially as her whole family were slightly weird.

The book is written in a diary format giving herself 3 goals to achieve daily. Most definitely recommend this book for a good read. I have only skimmed the surface of what goes on in this book.
