New Review! Neighbors by Stylo Fantome,4 Cranky Stars
Neighbors by Stylo Fantome
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4 Cranky Stars ****
The heart of this book was good. It was a sort of coming out of her shell tale and it wanted you to embrace yourself as you are. And that it's ok to reinvent yourself so long as it's your idea.
Katya Tocci is your quintessential normal girl. Raised by parents with antiquated views of how a woman should act. I'm 100% certain that if you looked up boring and routine you'd see a picture of Katya.
Her fly by the seat of her pants roommate suggests an online dating profile to get her to live a little. She first meets Liam "Eden" Edenhoff (or as she mistakingly calls him Edenhaselhoff) and sparks fly. He's her rich laid back neighbor who owns a series of clubs in the area. At his core he was a very nice guy with a devil may care attitude. He sets off Katya's sexual revolution.
Well, into the bakery she works at walks her teenage crush Wulfric Stone. While he never paid attention to young Tocci he is now. He's also a very Christian Grey like character in the sense that he's very rich, dominating and has what appears to be no feelings what so ever. At times, I almost felt he was borderline abusive to Katya.
This book has some steamy scenes, but lots of heart breaking ones because you know any minute a bomb will drop. When it does, it's like a nuclear bomb exploded and left no one in its wake standing.
I found myself trying very hard to piece the mystery together and Ms Fantome literally had me guessing to the explosive end.
Only a few minor things bothered me like her constant inner dialogue and bold printed words but like I said minor compared to the essence of the story. This crankster recommends it and will be reading future books by this Author.
