New Review! Flash Point (Elemental Trials #2) by Ronelle Antoinette 5 Cranky Stars
Flash Point by Ronelle Antoinette
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 Cranky Stars
This is Book 2 in The Elemental Trials series and just like Errant Spark, it’s a winner. In Book 1, we learned who Kivanna Vasi’s apprentice was. Enari looks exactly like her mother. When High Mage Eryk first saw her, his heart was torn asunder. He had loved Tanith and she had just disappeared 18 years ago. Now he was again looking at the love of his life.
It is now eight years later and Enari has finished her training. Jex has been her constant love but has spent the majority of his time at the Throne of Egalion. He is back for her final rite on the road to being a mage in her own right.
Once the testing is complete, Enari, Jex, Vasi and Eryk embark on a trip back to the Throne. Eryk’s sister the Tora is not well and needs help. The kingdom is on the brink of war and the unrest is growing. Without putting in spoilers, suffice it to say that this royal family is very unstable. No one is safe from the Black Magic that is being wielded by several of the main characters.
The ending is a tearjerker that makes me long for another book in this series. Hopefully, I won’t have to wait too long.
