Mafia Scars (The Accidental Mafia Queen, #2)Mafia Scars by Khardine Gray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Cranky Stars

Amelia had a privileged childhood she was all set to go to a good ballet school and become a prima ballerina. She had her whole life planned ahead of her, first she would dance with a troupe and at 25 she would teach at a school with the end being she owned her own school. Then one day her life came crashing down, her mother had been shot down the docks in crossfire between police and the mafia.

She couldn't understand what she was even doing down the docks. Everything started to slot together when she realised her father was a mafia boss. She had to get away she wanted no part of it, so she changed states and changed her last name and became a cop. Her father over the years always kept a close eye on her as he knew that someone was after her. Luc was sent in as an undercover cop to keep her safe and try to persuade her to come home. He was discovered as being one of the mafia and had to make a run for it, but in the time together they had fallen in love.

Even knowing what he was she could not help but dream about him. They met up again and he persuaded her to go back to Chicago with him as her father was dying. She got a lot of questions answered and knew she could not go back to her life of being a copper. A very tangled tale and enjoyable book.
