“I wish he’d just let me go, but like the ivy, he stayed”

You know the saying you should let sleeping dogs lie? Well that surely doesn’t apply to Amelia. She feels drawn to research a missing girl she barely knew in high school and she thinks her brother may be involved. What she doesn’t realize is she is about to jump headfirst into a world of secret societies, lies, deceit and oddly enough everlasting love.

Amelia finds herself at a new college her senior year. She’s trying to be closer to her brother who had an accident and to appease their father. She also feels oddly drawn to the case of a missing student that she knew in passing and who wrote for the same college paper Amelia now writes for. The deeper she digs the more sinister things become such as the people in creepy cloaks roaming the college halls. She befriends a girl named Hailey and has captured the eye of the mysterious hockey player Logan. The more she digs the more she discovers her family may not be what they claim. She also starts to depend on Logan who has never shown an interest in a girl long term before. When her brother has yet another accident, she dives into a secret society she never knew she was a legacy too. The unspeakable starts to happen and Amelia’s life flips upside down but she knows she can conquer anything with Logan at her side who has a few secrets himself. While yes she is strong enough to handle it all it helps to have someone in your corner rooting for you especially if that someone knows exactly what you are going through like Logan does.

I couldn’t put this book down! I never saw that ending coming. I loved how headstrong Amelia was. She might have been a rich girl, but she didn’t act it in fact she wanted to make her own name in the world. Logan at first put me off but he came around and I started to adore him. I learned that maybe his personality to the outside world was just a mask he wore to put people off his trail. Hailey and her dad can go jump off a bridge over alligator infested waters for all I care. I need more! Fingers crossed for another heart stopping mystery packed book.
