New Review! The Darkest Secrets by Heather Wynter 5 Cranky Stars

The Darkest SecretsThe Darkest Secrets by Heather Wynter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 CRANKY STARS

This is a suspense crime novel that pulls you in from Chapter 1. I honestly did not understand what was happening in that first chapter, but it soon made more sense. The author managed to fool me for most of the book. I usually figure out who did what from the start but instead I remained just as confused as the characters in the book.

The story revolves around Amelia, a detective in the Nashville police department. She and her partner are investigating a string of murders and she is convinced it is related to a traumatic event in her childhood. Her partner, Trent is not as sure. When the FBI sends an agent to help with the case, Amelia is furious. He happens to be the agent that took her job when she was asked to leave the Bureau. Of course, she hates him and does not trust him. When her mother died two years ago, she never closed the estate and now the lawyer is also on her case to close it out. She finally agrees to meet with him and a whole new level of stress is on her shoulders.

This is a spellbinding, page turner that keeps one on the edge of their seat. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes this genre.
