I am a big fan of the fantasy books that this author writes under a different name. I do not usually read romance but thought I would give her book a try. I was rewarded with one of the best books I have read in a long time. It has changed my mind about romance books in general. If you are a fan of Jessica Wayne’s fantasy series, check out her romance novels under J.W. Ashley. You will not be disappointed.
This book is about Macey and Lincoln. They grew up together in a small town in Montana. Macey is a hometown girl studying for her master’s at Princeton. When she gets a call from her Dad one night that her Gram fell and broke her hip, she drops everything to hurry home. You see, Macey is all about helping her Gram and father. Her mother walked out when her father was crippled in an auto accident and she feels it is her duty. Plus, her ultimate dream is to take over her Gram’s café as her own. However, Lincoln is a major factor in her decisions. He ran out on her the night before high school graduation and over the last ten years she has tried to get over him. That is easier said than done. She has loved him since she was a teenager and deep down, she still does. There are some awkward situations when she finds out he lives in her house with her Dad and Gram. Has he really changed and most importantly, can she trust him again? Life suddenly gets crazy when old boyfriends and an ex-wife arrive on the scene.
Fast paced love story that keeps you engaged and in love with both of these characters. Absolutely a winner for J.W. Ashley.
