New Review! Bobby Ether and the Temple of Eternity (Bobby Ether #2) by R. Scott Boyer 5 Cranky Stars

The first book ended on a literal cliffhanger so I was very happy to find this second story. This is a young adult series but I enjoyed it very much as an adult. It is fast paced and full of adventure and mystery. The main characters are as realistic as magical characters can be. However, that may not be correct as these kids used the uncovered powers of their brain to interact with the elements and each other.
The children were all students at a monastery school called the Jade Academy and they disappeared. Bobby and his cousin Jinx managed to escape separately from the rest. Bobby is at home with the parents he thought were killed in an auto accident. Now, his grandfather and Cassandra are missing as well as his grandmother. When Chief brings Jinx to Bobby's house, they tell Bobby that all their friends are missing. Chief is a Navajo in charge of a place called the Birds Nest , an eco-dome. He takes Bobby and Jinx back to the eco-dome for training in meditation and to increase their abilities. When word comes that the children and the Agency known as Core has been spotted in South America, off goes Chief, Bobby and Jinx. It is quite an adventure they have in the jungle while looking for information. The kids must work together and mount a rescue. We meet lots of native and supernatural spirits on this adventure. It is truly an entertaining adventure.
