New Review! Legacy by Inna Hardison, 4 Cranky Stars
Legacy by Inna Hardison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4 Cranky Stars ****
Legacy, the third book in Inna Hardison’s Alliance series, starts where The Cross left off.
Our group has had some wins and losses, but challenges are on the horizon. Their greatest task is before them and some may not get out alive.
When a training accident goes awry, the group returns to Reston – an abandoned city with a tragic past. There more pieces of the jigsaw puzzle fall into place and more information is revealed.
The simmering tensions between the Zoriners and the Alliance kids spills over. Personally, I was glad this came to a head and could be addressed.
In Reston, they meet a broken man with knowledge of the city’s tragic past and how events came to be. Many of the group struggle with guilt and forgiveness, but what they really need to make peace with is themselves.
More revelations come to light and as in the earlier works in this series, the melancholy tone accentuates the hidden horrors of the world that are revealed at the inter-personal level.
Told in multiple points of view and spanning different locations and time zones, this story has a Celtic knot feel to it. I like the roving style and the different characters’ perspectives.
Legacy’s pacing and plotting was just right in this story. The characters drove the action and in some parts, I held my breath.
I cannot wait for the next installment. Recommended.
