New Review! Retrieval by Aly Martinez, 4.5 Cranky Stars
Retrieval by Aly Martinez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4.5 cranky stars ****
This book was a rollercoaster. Hands up because the action and drama was real. I was kind of thrown at first because there was a sudden third point of view that eventually tied the story together.
The book opens on a heartbreaking prologue. Elisabeth and Roman are dealing with their marriage imploding around them. Both left damaged and coping the only way they know how.
Elisabeth dabbles in real estate and flipping house. She's barely treading water. Roman sinks himself into his now successful company that was a floundering mess when his marriage fell apart. They struggle with fertility issues and loss.
After 2 years apart they find each other again in the middle of a police investigation. In this story they learn to lean on each other amongst this earth shattering news.
This book was drama by the truck loads but I was intrigued. Despite the sudden third POV I didn't find much wrong. All minor in comparison to the overall story. I had to know what would happen. I won't give anything away about the rest of the characters but if you love second chance romance, drama, and action read this book.
