Too Late by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4.5 Cranky stars *****
When Colleen first started writing this on Wattpad, everyone was crazy. Read the book, they said. Download the app, they said. You won't be disappointed, they said. Well, I downloaded the app and waited. I'm stubborn. Sadly, they were right. This book was pretty awesome.
Sloan was a child of a drug addicted mother.
A mother who never raised her kids, which forced Sloan to care for her brothers. One particular brother is mentally challenged.
When faced with the fact the house he's in is losing state funding, Sloan becomes desperate. She meets Asa. On the outside he's the quintessential good looking bad boy. Ladies swoon. Underneath he's a narcissistic brainwashing tool. Sloan and Asa become involved and it's a mess. He manipulates her to a point she feels she has no hope.
Then enters Carter. Carter is a savior a hero and an all around good guy. He sets his sights on Sloan who is off limits. Truths are revealed and lines are drawn.
I truly did enjoy this book. The reason I didn't give it a solid 5 was how it continued to carry on. Prologue and epilogue then epilogue of epilogue (yes you read that right). I was content with the ending as it was. This is different than your normal CoHo book, so pick it up.
