Alana has lead a sheltered life on a woman’s retreat in the woods of Colorado. Her mom had been a victim of sexual assault by someone she loved and has serious trust issues when it comes to men. Alana doesn’t want this life for herself and at times has snuck out to sow her wild oats. She’s still leery of men but decides to hop a plane to see her best friend Kate. Together they go see the band Reckless Beat and she catches the eye of lead guitarist Mitchell. Sparks fly and so does the glass and what results is Alana leaning a on a man she never imagined herself with.
Mitchell hasn’t had the best examples of love. He adopts the love them and leave them attitude thinking this is a proper way to protect his heart. During one intimate concert he locks eyes with a stunning woman and approaches her. She seems skittish and he isn’t sure why. When they are involved in an altercation with a former bodyguard he uses this to gain Alanas trust. What he didn’t expect was to fall so hard.
This book had heart. It wasn’t a typical rock star romance full of slutty groupies and conniving chicks looking to steal someone’s man. Mitchell had a real heart and Alana was a damaged girl. The story flowed nicely and there was just enough drama to make it real. Extra steamy scenes made this book move to my top rock star books lists
