New Review! Heart of Glass by Jordyn White 4 Cranky Stars

Heart of GlassHeart of Glass by Jordyn White
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Cranky Stars

Mia had big dreams and ended up in New York City. She landed working at an art studio and it’s here she meets Luke. She becomes inspired by his art and against her better judgement she falls for him. Sadly, Luke is a married man and she just sticks to a strictly platonic friendship with him. Mia is very good at compartmentalizing her feelings. When a death in her family has her going back home, she knows it’s for the best and this is where she is supposed to land. Now running her own art studio, she has a life for herself and a group of friends and family who love her so. When she suggests Luke for an art installation at the local botanical garden, she doesn’t realize how hard seeing him will be.

Luke is a glass artist and has made a name for himself in NYC. He lives with the tremendous guilt and self-hatred thanks to his recently deceased wife. They were in the process of divorce when she had a tragic accident and now Luke is just going through the motions. When he is offered this position, he immediately jumps for it. Maybe some time away from the city will be what he needs to heal. He doesn’t expect to fall for Mia so quickly or for all his ugly insecurities to surface.

This book took the verbally and mentally abused woman and flipped it. Luke suffered some serious issues of not having much self-worth. He had a big heart and he really tried with Gwen, but she stomped on him repeatedly. Mia was almost too much of a pushover for me. I didn’t really connect with the story too much. It was very sugary sweet at times and maybe that was what the author was going for. Her group of friends are very extra. When I say they discuss everything they discuss everything. It got to be too much. I guess this story is perfect for someone who like a little secretive story line with their sugary sweet romance. Luke and Mia are perfect for each other.
