5 Cranky Stars

What a fantastic read, the author writes with humour. It not only had me wanting to keep reading but also smiling through it.

It starts with a young apprentice witch who will taking over the family bakery from her witch grandmother. She is a middle child and always felt left out, to make it worse she was bullied at school. The only time that she felt happy was with her grandmother at the bakery.
Her grandmother always put a spell of good luck into her wedding cakes. This one day Hazel was doing the spell but near the end of the spell the bride came in for the cake, followed by the mother-in-law. The bride was only one of her bullies, she was as polite as she could be. The mother-in-law asked for Hazel to go to the wedding, she didn't want to go but her grandmother said she could finish the spell while she was there. She gave in and went but her boyfriend, a perfect boyfriend, couldn't go with her. He was the perfect match for her and she was very happy with him.

Well that sounds simple enough, but how that is wrong. Strange things started to happen, through out the book. It is a good twist and turn murder/who-done it.

I can't say much more for fear of giving away spoilers, but I can say that this is a very original storyline and I will be first in the queue to read the second book out next year.
