If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread is like a Hallmark movie I suppose. Sadly, I’ve never watched one since they don’t appeal to me. I know I know take my chick card immediately, yet I did like this cute little saucy book. Watching the ever-proper younger sister Ginger give her cookie, calm down I mean her fresh baked candied gingerbread cookies, to the sexy enigmatic Brit with his own Food Network show Keller fall in love was very aww shucks and made me smile.
Ginger Spice Winter has a dream and it’s very attainable if she just wins the Great Gingerbread Cook Off. She is a shoe in until she learns that Keller James a famed baker with his own show will be apart of it. She thinks he will just be a guest judge but nope he is a contestant. Her belief in herself starts to falter but she sticks to her guns. Ginger has always loved Christmas and her small town of Reindeer Falls she refuses to fall for a guy who will just leave when the show is over. That still doesn’t stop them from exchanging covert glances and innuendos that make Ginger blush. Keller wasn’t expecting to fall for the small town or the adorable baker Ginger. She is just a breath of fresh air who makes a killer cookie among other things. He tries to keep his distance, but he’s just drawn to her in every way. From her cute little holiday dresses, to her inability to curse, and the fact that she is a superb baker Keller wants it all with Ginger in Reindeer Falls.
Ok this one was unlike the first book it’s cuter and swoon worthy but it’s more PG than Hollys book. Ginger does find her naughty elf at one point and its honestly kind of funny. She’s just adorable and from experience it’s like the kiss of death when someone calls you cute or adorable. Keller was British what more does he need going for him ok just kidding but still he was sexy in that boy next door kind of way. I can’t wait to see what the third book has in store with Noel and Santa. Are you sensing a name theme with the Winter sisters? These are the perfect little holiday novellas to get you in the spirit and make you laugh along the way.
