This book took me by surprise, I'm not normally one to like books based off of mobs or gangs, but this one is different. This one is more about the people involved then the organization in which they are navigating. Machiavellian is a man living as a ghost, trying to save Mari's innocents from the ugly world. What starts out as a marriage of convenience under terms they both agreed on oh, it turned into a marriage of love and happiness. Mac is trying to take back what was stolen from him in the form of revenge, while trying to keep Mari safe.


This book has so many ups and downs and twists and turns, it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. There is love, happiness, betrayal, tears, grief, and awakening. Everything you ever look for in a book is here.
