New Review! Hate Me (Black Mountain Academy) by Ashley Jade 5 Cranky Stars

Hate MeHate Me by Ashley Jade

5 Cranky Stars

I read this book in one day. It’s like a drug you can’t put down and it feeds you bit by bit until that ending. Whoa that ending though. I don’t suggest you read this in one day but I’m a glutton for punishment obviously. It’s not pretty it isn’t a sort of dark romance. It is brutal a punishment and it’s also gruesome at times but there is that True Romance/Natural Born Killers kind of love. I love those movies by the way. Who wants a love like Johnny and June when you can be like Mickey and Mallory?

Aspen has suffered a great loss and her mother is not winning any parenting of the year awards. She remarries and they move in with her mortal enemy Knox. She is now not only new to her school but dealing with his contempt and hatred at home to boot. She just wants to graduate and get away. Get accepted into a fancy college and live her life. She finds herself with an often-judged job and is having an affair as well. Knox is full of rage, but he unleashes that rage toward Aspen. He puts her down at every turn and degrades her. He hates that now she is in his house, but this rage isn’t for her truly it’s for his father. Knox is keeping a terrible secret that has made him indifferent. Try as he might to push her away, he starts to fall. Then suddenly the people around them that may have interacted with them at some point start to disappear. All it takes is one night to change the course of their life.

This book is dark. There will be blood and there will be gratuitous sex. I’m not trying to turn you off from this book, but it seems everyone needs a warning nowadays. I hope you take a chance on it. I hope you see that under it all the connection these two share and the messed up way they show it. Her mom is the worst, Trent is the ultimate psychopath and Leo is a predator plain and simple. Go read this book. Take some time to read it or don’t I’m not you but just take a chance. The mind of Ashley Jade is a dark place and I really like it.
