New Review! The Devil's Own by K.A. Fox 5 Cranky Stars

The Devil's OwnThe Devil's Own by K.A. Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

This is an interesting take on the Devil, Evil and Good. The story is well written and sucks you in from page one. It is really hard to put down after that. Delaney is a young lady with a strange history. The story begins with her working as a waitress in a dance club. However, unknown to the few people she knows, she is looking for a killer. Then he shows up, she saves her friend, bad guy gets captured and then she disappears much to the chagrin of Detective Tanner Bishop.

In reality, she is Delaney Murphy the daughter of Angus Murphy the former and deceased founder of a famous rock group. In actuality, he isn’t dead the way we think of death. He is the Devil himself and he is not happy with Delaney. She is half human but has inherited some of her father’s powers that have caused her all kinds of trouble. Normally she stays hidden in her home surrounded by magic protections. This jaunt into do-gooding is not safe for her. For some unknown reasons, she is being traced and tracked by Demons trying to kill her. Her father sends her some guardians to help her- Moose, a cute dog and Callum, a handsome young man.

As the dangers close in on her, Detective Bishop shows up and she finally realizes that she didn’t cover her tracks as well as she had thought. The closest town also has help for her and the action is just nonstop. Except for the Demons, I loved all the characters and hope that Delaney has more adventures coming.
