New Review! True Love's Way by Mary Elizabeth, 5 Extra Cranky Stars
Books like this don’t come along every day. You can find any number of novels written about this type of situation, to a degree, but the touch is usually feather light and gimmicky. People like to use “problems” with one character or another as a ploy to make them deeper.
This is not one of those stories.
If you want ugly truth and beautiful lies, then this is the book for you.
Pen is different. That’s all I’ll say about that. She’s as different a character as any I’ve ever read. Yet she’s exactly who we know. We've met or befriended people like Pen. We may even be her. She makes you question your knee jerk reactions to those that live as she does. In her head is chaos melting into a reality that we have all experienced in either small doses or large. You can feel wrong, right, and completely indecisive in a single paragraph in the life of Penelope.
Dillon is as easy to like as the sunrise. You want to hang out with someone like him, maybe be him, but you certainly don’t question a steadfast person like Dillon. We all know people like him too. Some of us are Dillon. He’s a rock, and everyone on the face of the planet needs one. It’s how many of us survive, one helpful Dillon in our life at a time.
The story takes two people who shouldn’t even work and makes them leap through the hurdles of life until you are sure, absolutely positively, that nothing can get worse or better.
But then it does.
If you want pretty, find another book.
If you crave easy, look elsewhere.
But if you are like me, and you want the ride of your reading life, this is the book for you.
If you crave easy, look elsewhere.
But if you are like me, and you want the ride of your reading life, this is the book for you.
We loved this book.
We can't wait to see more.
Bravo.
