New Review! Into the Rain by Michelle Irwin, 5 Cranky Stars

Into the Rain (Daughter of Fire, #3)Into the Rain by Michelle Irwin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****

Wow. So much explained, so much more I want to know. This book can be read as a stand alone and the author does a wonderful job of filling the reader in on past events, but it is best to read books one and two first.

On the run with so much pain, Evie fights to survive with Clay and his family hot on her trail. The book unfolds to find our heroine riddled with guilt over all the hardship, pain, betrayal and death she has inadvertently caused. In this the superspy organization, the Rain, is better chronicled and so are some of the legends about the "monsters", the Fae in particular. I love so many parts of the story and the end has me wondering about the next book.

The plot is filled with details that come into play throughout the story. The author uses everything she writes-nothing is pure chance. A book that makes you wonder who are the true monsters. Also, it continues the theme of two star crossed lovers as both Evie and Clay find their forbidden love tested and with it Evie reaches the lowest of the low.

Bottom line: a really good book that is romantic, adventurous, and original. While this story leaves the reader saying ,"I didn't see that coming", it also has a unique way of explaining the mindset of each character in the story. I'm impressed by the author's style of weaving the past events and characters into this next book without too much back tracking.
