Books with angels and demons are normally kinda crappy in my opinion, but this one is out of this world good. I am really looking forward to the rest of this series. I haven't felt this emotionally attached to a demon and angel character in a really long time. The story flowed flawlessly and the conversations/banter are very realistic and relatable. The characters are well thought out and easily relatable in their feelings and attitudes.
A strong female main character, who is a half demon assassin owned by a guild that has a serious no-touching policy, teams up with an angel, who was kicked out of heaven to serve as an example by the archangels after an attack and theft in heaven, to track down and assassinate a false god and steal his treasures.
She needs the treasure to buy her freedom and he needs it to buy his way back to heaven. Both are on a fool's errand. Through their ordeal, escaping death time and time again, they realize they already found home in each other.
