New Review! Across the Stars (Cyborg Genesis #1) by Lauren Smith and Noah Chinn 5 Cranky Stars

Across the Stars (Cyborg Genesis, #1)Across the Stars by Lauren Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

This a Sci Fi fantasy, love story. The concepts are so believable that I found myself lost in this story from the first chapter. As the scientists on Earth improved on the design of cyborgs and synths, they enacted a fail safe to prevent them from ever taking over. Unfortunately, since their lifespan is so long and humans so short, it didn’t quite work. Now Earth has been destroyed due to a war between the Cyborgs and the humans. Cyborgs became the rulers of that section of space. Turns out that humans were not the only space farers and they were thousands of inhabited worlds in space.

A few dedicated scientists worked feverishly to preserve their race. The Cyborgs were rounding up all humans and turning them into slaves or executing them. Or, so the humans were being told. Running and hiding was a way of life for Laina until her luck ran out. Captured by the most handsome Cyborg she has ever seen, she is sure her life is over. The ship doctor discovers a secret that even Laina doesn’t know she carries. Can Ronan save this strange lovely human from all the threats around her? Does she have the strength needed to change a way of life and a way of thinking that has prevailed for over 300 years?

There better be a book 2 coming out real soon. I want to see more of this world.
