Blindsided is my favorite book in the series and it doesn’t follow the fake boyfriend troupe. Talon and Miller are best friends. They’ve shared a bed but only with a girl between them if you catch my drift. They have never thought about each other that way or maybe they have. When Talon goes off to the NFL and Miller playing for minor leagues until he is signed to the Warriors, they don’t keep in contact like they used to. When Talon shows up as the Warriors new quarterback their worlds collide. They start to maybe think it wasn’t the girls they kept them going back that maybe it was each other. Neither one is gay but they are starting to explore the idea of bi sexuality. When Miller is injured they start a very private long distance relationship because while there are some out players in the NFL and NHL they don’t want to subject themselves to that kind of backlash when they are at different points In their career. When they reach that point of just wanting to be a couple like the couples in the books before them they start to wonder if they have the strength and longevity to see this through.
I loved Talon and Miller. They dealt with real complex human emotions in this one. They agonized over their decisions. I can imagine it’s hard to be an out player in sports. It’s always viewed as such a mans man thing to do. My heart hurt for them. I was cheering them on. We got to see some couples from past books and I’m glad Miller and Talon has a team of people supporting them. This is a series to read people!!
