New Review! Power Plays and Straight A's (CU Hockey #1) by Eden Finley and Saxon James 4 Cranky Stars
Power Plays & Straight A's by Eden Finley

As with most Eden Finley books, we have a forbidden M/M relationship between two characters with obvious differences. Power Plays and Straight A’s was no different, but it was still a sweet book. We find Foster a college hockey goalie vying for the NHL and Zach a guy who hates people yet is studying to be a psychologist.
Foster is tasked with looking after his brother Seth’s best friend as he transfers to the college he is at. He knows Zach because the guy has spent plenty of time at his house. He is known as a bit awkward and a loner but something about him appeals to Foster. Zach is unsure about the change in colleges but agrees to give it a good try. He doesn’t expect Foster to show up at his dorm door wanting to be his friend. Over the course of the book Foster and Zach realize they really like each other. Zach slowly comes out of his shell little by little and makes a small group of friends and Foster starts to realize his dream just may come true with Zach by his side.
I liked that they were opposites. I mean Zach at times could make you dissociate with his nerdy talk, but it was endearing. I liked that Foster didn’t want to stand in Zach’s way he didn’t want to mold him into a perfect boyfriend. He loved him for him. I did wonder though if the authors knew that the name Foster Grant is an eyeglass wear company? I did laugh about that.
