New Review! Rosinanti by Kevin J. Kessler, 4.5 Cranky Stars
Rosinanti by Kevin J. Kessler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
**** 4.5 Cranky Stars ****
On the fictitious world of Terra, twin brothers Valentean and Kayden are raised in the city of Kackritta by their adoptive father Vahn Burai, an elite warrior of Kackritta.
The boys grow up believing Vahn to be their biological father and never knew the extraordinary circumstances in which they came into his life. Vahn was startled by the rapid rate at which the boys learned the arts of combat.
From the beginning there was intense rivalry between the boys. Both boys go into an intense 9 year training to become the Animus - the soul bound protectors- of the 2 royal princesses. During their years of training their rivalry continues as their abilities unfold and increase.
The story of Terra also unfolds as we learn that the entire history of the planet is built on a lie.
It is a story of swords and sorcery, of dragon fire and fury and where chaos is unleashed.
I found this book enthralling and captivating, it has depth and many levels as well as many twists and turns. The world building is excellent and not limited to only one city. My only negative in the book is that for me personally the fight scenes were overlong and I found myself sometimes becoming bored.
I rate this novel at 4.5 stars
