5 Cranky Stars

This book was very different and very emotional!!! Mainly centered around two characters, Emily and Jaxon. They fell in love at a very young age. Emily's father was not going to allow it, but Jaxon showed up every Sunday morning with a red rose to try and prove to him how much he loved his daughter. In the end her father relented and said they could see each other with conditions, it must not interfere with school work or Emily's gymnastics. So their relationship bloomed from there.

Jaxon had a flair for baseball, where he was an excellent pitcher. Between the sports and school work they made the most of their time together. Jaxon was a true gentleman and loved surprising Emily with romantic gestures like having breakfast whilst watching the sun rise. They were quite happy being with each other and didn't feel the need to go out. Jaxon's mates ribbed him about this until Jaxon and Emily were invited to a party. Emily didn't really want to go but Jaxon had a point to prove with his mates. That night changed the rest of their lives.

When they were ready to go Scotty one of Jaxon's friends said he hadn't drunk that much and would drive a few of them home. Emily was not happy about this as she had seen him drinking. Jaxon was drunk and said it would be OK. The inevitable happens and there was an accident, the car side swiped a tree and had pinned Emily inside the car. Everybody else had minor injuries. Jaxon realised that Emily was losing a lot of blood, until finally the ambulance arrived. They managed to release Emily and took her straight to hospital, Jaxon went in the ambulance with her. When they arrived at the hospital their parents were waiting for them. They rushed Emily off and while Jaxon was talking to his parents he passed out so he was admitted with concussion. Emily was badly hurt and received some life changing news. She decided she wanted to move away so that Jaxon could carry on with his life and get over her. Her parents agreed with her wishes and overnight they were gone. She just left a note for Jaxon saying goodbye.

The book then continues with going back to the past and then to the present, it's very emotional. Telling all the happy loving experiences they had together and then back to the heartbreak they were both going through. Eight months had gone by and Emily felt strong enough to tell her friends what had happened to her (she had kept in touch by email). Her BFF invited her to her birthday party so Emily thought this the ideal time to come clean with everyone. This reunion was very emotional, especially when confronted with Jaxon, but alas the book ends there................
