Nothing PersonalNothing Personal by Karina Halle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

It’s been awhile since a book made me laugh out loud. Kessler versus the chicken will forever be in my head. Hey I don’t blame him farm birds are the devil. I’m looking at you geese and ducks. Yet it’s more than laughs though It’s about recognizing the flaws in yourself and allowing yourself to open up again.

When Kessler and Nova met the first time it was an explosive affair. Neither one wanting to open up and budge about their true feelings. More like Nova fell in love and Kessler thought love wasn’t for him. He becomes her ultimate heartache. She sets off to live out her days in Hawaii at the corporate office of the hotel chain they worked for. She’s just existing but she thinks her life is great until her new boss arrives. Hello Kessler! Kessler has grown a lot in the 5 years apart. He comes with a new person in tow and Is excited but unsure to see Nova again. They fight they have hot steamy sex and then they find a common ground to exist on. It isn’t an easy road for Nova and Kessler but It becomes so worth it.

I loved this story. It felt different than the Karina Halle books of the past. It’s fun and playful yet it has that heart and overcoming your fears like a Karina book does. I love that they are both able to admit yes we have commitment fears with Nova’s coming from a very real place. Hunter you sweet little boy with the leprechauns you won my heart. Do yourself a favor and read this story. You won’t regret it. Mahalo Karina Halle for writing this gem of a book . Filled with bastard chickens and geckos named Dwayne Johnson.
