5 Cranky Stars

It is Earth’s problem in 2228 AD to be overpopulated and like our present, resources are dwindling. Over the decades, science has genetically changed the human race to be shorter, thinner and have larger eyes. Thus, resource consumption is lessened. However, the Space Consortium of America and the Earth First Faction are at odds as to how to save the environment.

SCONA has excelled in space travel and has built bases on the moon, Jupiter and free flying around Mars. Their biggest project will cause Mars to reawaken. In a few decades, they will terraform and settle on it.

However, EFF is totally against all of this. They are against all forms of space travel. Why waste what few resources are left to go into space. It doesn’t matter to them that SCONA has saved the Earth by blasting apart asteroids on a collision course and brought the minerals back. EFF is rogue and has many hidden agents in all aspects of the government and SCONA. They will resort to violence.

Now, throw in an unknown lifeforce from Mars that may or may not be dangerous, a power hungry scientist and a premature blast on Mars while SCONA workers are stranded there and the story takes off. Scariest thing about this story is the possibility of this all someday happening.
