New Review! A Cemetery, A Cannibal, and the Day of the Dead book by CC Dragon 4 Cranky Stars
A Cemetery, a Cannibal, and the Day of the Dead by C.C. Dragon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 Cranky Stars
This book has enough twists and turns to make your head spin. It's fantastic! The plot is excellent and the storyline is new and fresh. The idea of graves being robbed for body parts is one thing, but to find out the who's and the why's is another. This is what sets this book apart from other cozy mysteries. The drama that the main character Deanna has to deal with from both the paranormal and everyday world definitely keeps her on her toes and keeps the reader turning the page.
Deanna is full of wit and sarcasm and is a strong female character. Her friends and family are super quirky characters who help her solve the mystery even though it sometimes feels that they will truly be the death of her. In other words, her life is totally relatable (minus the Demons, Angels, and Death).
The story flowed well and it was a fun read. With as many plot twists as there were it was hard to put the book down. The grammar was well done and easy to follow. The only issue I had with the book was with some of the characters not matching up with previous books, but that can easily be remedied with some quick edits. Overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to future parts of this series.
