New Review! Lass by Harloe Rae 4 Cranky Stars

LASSLASS by Harloe Rae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Cranky Stars

I will admit it took me a hot minute to get into the story of Shane and Addison but once I did, I was hooked. Hooked on the boy from a religious background and the fiercely independent girl with dreams fit for a Disney princess.

Addison is a Garden Grove lifer. She waits tables at a popular bar in town called Dagos. She’s the last of the group to find a stable someone. Since Shane has suddenly shown up into her town and breezed into her life at the bar she is drawn to his quiet shy demeanor and is really holding out hope that he will finally ask her out. When her roommate decides to leave that puts her in a lurch and Shane jumps in to take the room. This dashes her hopes for something romantic happening because surely you shouldn’t date your roommate. Right?

Shane has escaped his ultra-religious background. He grew up on a compound with very strict parents who lived by the word of their pastor. When his ideals didn’t match theirs, he was cast out and showed up in Garden Grove. Addison has always been on his radar and he can’t bring himself to talk to her. When he finally works up the nerve, he finds himself offering to be her roommate. When lines start to blur and he can no longer hold his feelings in things become everything he wishes for but sadly he can’t get the teachings that have been drilled into his head out and risks losing Addison before he even has a chance to start.

Lass was very different in what we normally see from romance books. If you read books about religious cults (for lack of a better word) it’s always a female escaping. I loved that Shane knew this wasn’t for him and went out on his own. I loved the sweet little connection him and Adds had. This book isn’t all aww shucks and sweet moments it is steamy too. These two burn up the sheets. We also got get a look into the other couples from Gent and Miss and all the quirky characters from Garden Grove. I truly love this series and so glad I got to read Lass. I hope you give them a chance and love them too.
