4.5 Cranky Stars

This is this Cranky reader first time reading Savannah Maris while she’s not new to our blog she’s new to me and I absolutely enjoyed Toy Girl and can’t wait to read more by her. This book is about finding love when you least expect it and overcoming tragedy and making your life your own again and having fun.

Jessica Compton must stay on the “path”. A series of rules she has made for herself that keep her on the up and up. You see Jessica believes every time she has a glimmer of happiness in her life people die because sadly that’s what happened to Jess. She got a fake ID went out with her friends and bam her parents had a tragic accident. The next several years of her life are filled with plans and never once stepping out of line. In short, her life is boring and uneventful. So, when her best friend April suggests a week at the beach with no lists or no path before they graduate college and start the next phase of life Jessica is reluctant. April tells her that she wants to meet her online boyfriend and he’s bringing a friend. How could Jessica just leave her friend alone to meet a stranger? When she meets Thurston Cresswell the Third AKA Cress, she is a smitten kitten. Cress was unsure about his buddy’s crazy plan to ride along to meet his online girlfriend and her friend. He was basically going as a distraction to keep said friend busy, but he wasn’t expecting the beauty that is Jessica. He falls in lust and makes it his mission to take her to see all the sights in this touristy beach town. Help her have a sexual awakening so to speak and to just live. He starts to fall for her and just like that she is suddenly out of his life because you guessed it a tragedy occurred. Now three months later they find themselves in the same town with him working at the bar he owns and she’s running her aunts adult toy business. Which is funny because Jess isn’t that kind of girl. Cress must now prove to her how perfect they are for each other and that it’s ok to be happy and have fun. He helps her learn that she is not alone in this world anymore and that she has a family in him and April and Vince.

Seriously this book is so cute and just swoon worthy. Cress is the ultimate book boyfriend. There is nothing alpha jerk about him. He’s just a good guy. Ok a good guy with a very wealthy family that he hardly speaks to but man when he falls he goes all out. I felt so bad for Jessica I mean I get her way of thinking but she things happen that way for a reason and it’s better to play it safe. I breezed through this book because I was so excited to see where Jess and Cress (hey that rhymes) end up. I was laughing at her trying the adult toys and lubes and the madness that followed. Poor girl! I liked April. She was the best friend we all need the one to push us out of our zones occasionally. I babbled long enough just do yourself a favor and read Toy Girl and experience these two for yourself.
