New Review! Star (Price of Fame #2) by Elizabeth Lynx 3.5 Cranky Stars

Star (Price of Fame, #2)Star by Elizabeth Lynx
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 Cranky Stars

I’m so confused as to what this book was about. There’s a disabled dirty minded vet with a childish attitude and an up and coming movie starlet lots of sex and a villain tossed in the mix for good measure. The couple fight and make up but what the meat and potatoes of the story is I’m still not sure. Is it supposed to be erotica with a small plot mixed in? Was it supposed to me more? I have no idea and I really wanted to like it.

Tucker is a disabled vet who automatically deflects anything with snark and porn thoughts. He runs a successful company and doing ok for himself. He kind of a has a woe is me attitude he hides behind innuendos while he rolls around in his wheelchair. He hasn’t had any real relationships with women and his only friend is his brother. Sad, I know right? When he was just blowing off some steam and thinking the apartment next door was still unoccupied, he cranked up the porn and that brought Niki to his door. He is immediately taken by her but goes about it all wrong. Niki is establishing herself as a Hollywood It girl in…..Maryland. She is adjusting to her life and all the perks that come with it. She hasn’t had the best upbringing and I believe that shows in her real life. Niki has some kinks and had guys look down upon her for it. She isn’t expecting Tucker and his large….member and his strange attitude. At first, she’s turned off by him and avoids him but slowly falls into like with him. She faces down her past with Tucker by her side.

This book was confusing. It felt disjointed and just all over. Like snippets of stories here and there. Each chapter break it seemed like days or weeks have passed and it was like a whole new story. It seemed like some issues where just tossed it to give this book drama. I’m sure somewhere in there is a darn good story if it would just stick to one plot bunny and roll with it. This book is a lot of sexy times and that’s cool because I love sexy books. This isn’t a very long read so maybe that’s why it felt disjointed like trying to make something meaty in nineteen chapters. I really wanted to like it I truly did but it just flat for me. The synopsis had me intrigued and I thought I was getting a different story then what was presented. Gah I really hate writing reviews like this! Star had so much potential if it was just reworked a bit.
