New Review! Never Enough (Dirtshine #1) by Roxie Noir

Never Enough (Dirtshine, #1)Never Enough by Roxie Noir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gavin is a rock god living the dream. Except the dream has landed him with a heroin addiction and multiple rehab stints. With a roadie OD on his hands and a former drummer who is beyond saving he is trying to prove himself to the rest of the band and their new drummer. The PR group suggest a “fake” girlfriend to polish his image up. He knows just the woman for the job and we can only see where this is heading.

Marisol is a last year law student. The end is near and the bills are piling up right along with the threat of her parents losing their apartment. When she is invited to a party for a friend that knows Dirtshine she begrudgingly goes. She meets Gavin in a dark alley and they muck that up amazingly well. When she is called in for an interview she thinks its for a job but instead it’s to be Gavins girlfriend.

I was like ok how many ways can we write fake Rockstar girlfriend before it becomes redundant but yet I jumped in was pleasantly surprised. This is a story about overcoming your background and your heritage but it’s also about the struggle of staying sober in a world of sex drugs and rock and roll. I loved the push and pull between Gavin and Marisol. I also loved that their backgrounds while similar they were raised in complete opposite places. All in all if you want a semi light read while lots of heart and redemption this is your book.
