New Review! The Shifter's Revenge (Eulogimenoi #2) by Maria Vermisoglou 5 Cranky Stars
The Shifters' Revenge by Maria Vermisoglou
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is as exciting as Book 1. Only, this year sees a new headmaster, actually headmistress. She is very strange and has locked the school down. No one can go out after dark. The first chapter gives a short rehash of the previous book so this could be a stand alone but I don't think that is as fun as reading them in order. So much happens in each story that the background means more if read in full.
Violet still has Jacques but she must still hide him from everyone. The shapeshifter Rory is still after Violet. This time Violet must save the realms from eternal darkness. She has to learn to control her magic but she has no idea how, new powers manifest daily. Worst part is, she has no idea how she does these new things and can't bring them about at will. The action moves across realms and through the school. It's fast paced and confusing at times. Violet struggles with nightmares and insomnia. At times, you'll wonder if she can survive. Don't blink because you'll miss exciting clues as to what is happening. This is a great series for readers of all ages.
