New Review! Lorelai, You'll Never Die by Laura Konrad, 4 Cranky Stars
Lorelai, You'll Never Die by Laura Konrad
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 Cranky Stars!
The work is a post-apocalyptic compilation of short stories depicting situations after the event. The titular character, Lorelai, was once a promiscuous secretary at the county evidence locker. Now, she wanders alone in the country in search of something she is not quite sure about.
Encountering different types of people, some freaks, some crazy, some trying to survive, and some, like Lorelai, trying to make sense of their new world. Lorelai’s adventures force her to adapt in ways she never thought previously possible, engendering the survival code of: in the apocalypse, you either adapt or die.
This is an examination of human nature where people either give into their baser instincts or try to retain their humanity in the worst of situations. Laura Konrad has a vivid imagination that leaps off the pages, giving a somewhat realistic depiction of what life could be like after an apocalypse.
