New Review! The Epilogue by Michelle Heard 5 Cranky Stars

The Epilogue (Trinity Academy #5)The Epilogue by Michelle Heard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

I’m not ready to let these guys go but I’m excited to see what the next generation has in store for us. Hopefully there will be books about the kiddos of these guys. This book takes us from Lake to Mason to Julian and Falcon and shows us how life is going now that they all have their happily ever after. It’s full of laughs at Masons expense and swoon from Falcon. I laughed so hard when Lake said he was a grandpa talking about the other kids. This book was a much needed ending to this series.

I suggest everyone read the Trinity Academy series because it’s not your typical college age romance. It’s so much more and then pick up this novella and enjoy the closure and hopefully beginning of the new pack!

New Review! Falling North (Turner Artist Rocker #2) by Alyson Santos 5 Cranky Stars

Falling North (Turner Artist Rocker, #2)Falling North by Alyson Santos
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again Alyson Santos gives us a heart tugging narrative with a music lesson. I wish I had her knowledge of music and maybe if I applied myself, I would understand but I’ll leave that to the professionals the passionate ones if you will. My heart hurts for Xander and Matty and all they’ve been through. The way the protect each other made my heart happy but Xander did it at the expense of his own happiness it seemed. He had such a big heart, but he carried the whole world to shelter his brother. He even gives up what his heart wants and that is Lydia the woman who is meant to skyrocket their career. Lydia is a PR whiz. When she is given an unknown band, she helps them achieve stardom. When she first meets Xander she doesn’t know who he is and is smitten. Sadly, he leaves her at the bar and when they meet again it’s a shock. She knows she can’t rightfully pursue him until her time with them is over, but it seems Xander is giving her mixed signals. She isn’t sure what is holding Xander back, but she will figure it out. She isn’t a quitter. Through the rise to stardom, scheming blackmailing mothers, health woes and the like Xander and Lydia find their place.

I admired why Xander didn’t pursue Lydia at first but come on man no one has rights to someone else. I loved the bond between the brothers. I liked that Lydia didn’t rely on her dad’s status. She paved her own way. I hate Stacy Rogers and that’s all I have to say about that. I can see that Alyson Santos puts a lot of her experiences into her writing and it shows. Her words touch you deep inside. Once again Alyson Santos has written another winner.

New Review! The Danger You Know by Lily White 5 Cranky Stars

The Danger You KnowThe Danger You Know by Lily White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

This is the best Anti Hero Romance book I have ever read in my entire life. Adeline and Ari are perfect together, both of them sick and twisted, but fit perfectly with each other. Adeline is first seen by Ari after he completes the contract to kill her father and make it look like a suicide. Adeline was 16 at the time, Ari's obsession grew from the first moment he laid eyes on her. He watched her, learned her secrets, protected her from others and herself without her knowing for 7 years before finally making himself known to her. She married a man that stripped away her identity and left her a shell of a person from what she was, a wild and free woman. He helps her find herself again and they fall in love, or their version of love, along the way.

I couldn't stop reading this book, I am utterly captivated by the characters. They speak to the wild part of myself, and the love of the shadows that others fear. I hope to read more like this from Lily White!

New Review! Lion Heart (Wild Scots #3) by Jolie Vines

Lion Heart (Wild Scots #3)Lion Heart by Jolie Vines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 CRANKY STARS

This is one of my favorite series. It is a continuation of the “Marry the Scot” series and deals with the children. This is Sebastian’s story. He is the troubled son of Lord Fitzroy, who was close friends with the McRaes. They consider themselves family but not by blood. This is a close-knit relationship and very well depicted. It points out that just because you are well off, you are not always happy. That is probably why I love these romance novels so much.

The author puts these people in very realistic circumstances that seem insurmountable. As with Sebastian, they do not always come out “smelling like a rose”. By the end of the book, however, you will be loving this family even more. When you meet Rose, you will not know what to think of her. She has been the one Sebastian has dreamed about for the past 3 years while in jail for assault. Little does he know that she is a con and hid from him on purpose. She could have prevented his prison sentence if she had shown up to testify, but alas, she had disappeared. As the author says, this can be read as a stand-alone but please, start with the “Marry the Scot” series and then move on to the “Wild Scots”. You will be glad you did.

How do we get back to the summer when we were us?     Excerpt: I pulled into the garage, wondering if Sunny was still asleep in my bed. Part of me hoped she was. She worked too hard, and I wanted to spoil her today. But entering the house, I had my answer. All I could smell was biscuits. I found Sunny, not in my bed, but in the kitchen, wearing one of my dress shirts, the tails hanging down to her knees, and a pair of my heavy socks. Her hair was pulled into a ponytail, her face free from makeup, and she looked adorable. She looked up as I came around the corner, her welcoming smile bright. I headed straight for her, catching her in my arms and lifting her off the ground. I crashed my mouth to hers and kissed her long, hard, and passionately. She plunged her hand into the hair at the nape of my neck, kissing me back with equal fervor. I eased back, dropping my face to her neck with a groan. “You have no idea what seeing you in my kitchen is doing to me right now.” She wrapped her legs around my waist, laughing low in her throat. “I think I can, um, feel your reaction.” She rubbed against me. “I think you’re happy to see me. Or your cell phone is in your pocket,” she deadpanned. “Baby, my cell phone doesn’t take up that sort of real estate.” She giggled, the sound lilting and strange in my house. I liked it. I was about to kiss her again when the timer on the oven went off and she pushed away. “Cockblocked by biscuits,” I muttered and set her on her feet.       About the Author: New York Times/Wall Street Journal/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of twenty-seven-plus years and their rescue cat, Amber. THE JOB
It was supposed to be simple.

Just one stop.
But when that prisoner is a savant who talks to ghosts, even the simplest plans have a way of falling apart.
THE LAW
Sheriff’s Deputy Ruth Cortez always does the right thing. Lucky Boy is a company town, dependent on the rich and powerful Carnarvon family. When his transport derails in the middle of the prairie, Ruth begins a relentless manhunt that leads straight into the dark heart of the Carnarvon empire.
THE FUGITIVE
Lee Merriweather favors sharp suits and fast trains – especially when he’s stealing them. At the ripe old age of 18, he’s managed to become the most wanted criminal in three territories. Lee can’t resist playing cat and mouse with a small-town deputy, but what starts as a game becomes deadly serious.
THE FIXER
Sebastian Hardin is the Carnarvons’ right hand, loyal to the death and willing to keep any secret to protect the family. They want Lee alive, but with the young savant’s disturbing abilities it won’t be an easy proposition. Whoever catches Lee gets the keys to the kingdom and the Carnarvons aren’t the only ones hunting him down. Sebastian has enough problems without falling for Deputy Cortez – but you can’t always choose who you love.
THE PHANTOMS
They terrorized the settlers until Calindra Carnarvon learned to speak their language. Her empire relies on controlling their telekinetic powers, but Lee Merriweather could destroy it all. And not even Lee suspects the shocking truth of the phantoms’ real nature.

New Review! Henley (Loving a Young #2) by Stacy Eaton 5 Cranky Stars

Henley, Loving a Young Series, Book 2Henley, Loving a Young Series, Book 2 by Stacy Eaton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

I read the first in this series and loved it this one was just as good. The author has a talent to draw you into her book with her description.

Henley is another Young brother who is a paramedic. Roxanne was a wedding planner, her dream job from a little girl and she was good at it. The only thing wrong was she had competition who kept undercutting her prices and stealing her clients. Roxy's brother Roman was very protective over her obsessively, since their mother walked out because she wanted more out of her life. Roman couldn't come to terms with their mother leaving and wanted Roxanne to be reliant on him and his father.

She was driving to an early morning appointment that she really needed when she was in a car accident. When the paramedic got there it was Henley on duty. You could say it was love at first sight, but with love comes troubles.

A good Sunday afternoon read.

New Review! Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye by E.S. Carter 4 Cranky Stars

Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye.Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye. by E.S. Carter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Cranky Stars

I am going to admit It took me a bit to get into this story. It had me confused for a while because it seemed like it was fantasy with how Macsen explains their meeting to Ellis. It started to pick up more toward the middle when I finally had a grasp on what was happening between Macsen and Ellis. You can call it past lives or reincarnation who knows but whatever it was it was happening to these two.

When Macsen was young he dreamed of a boy who was an especially important piece in his life puzzle. Fast forward to present day and he runs a successful business but always felt something was missing. When he sees an advert for a dilapidated manor in a small town, he feels drawn to it. With no real rhyme or reason, he sets out for Lily Bay and it’s here he feels that pull to a pub and one particular pub owner. Ellis has always been a love them and leave them kind of guy. There has always been something missing that he cannot explain. When a handsome man shows up at his pub and asks to rent the room above while he remodels the manor Ellis is taken back. Something about this man seems familiar but he’s never met him. Over the next few months, they start a relationship and discover their connected past.

This story was good don’t get me wrong, but it was hard to follow at times. It is a good love story albeit a sad one so be prepared for that. It’s also written with English slang which wasn’t that really hard to figure out. I hope this book reaches someone who can understand appreciate it.
