Book Tour! Raven Daughter Series by A.D. Trosper

Chosen
Raven Daughter Book 3
by A.D. Trosper
Genre: YA Paranormal Fantasy Romance

This is the third and final book in the Raven Daughter series.

I’m fully bound to Caius and I don’t regret it. I carry more than his blood within me and I don’t regret that either.

Although we found safety, we can’t hide because souls aren't the only thing at stake anymore and time is running out as we race toward the dagger and whatever future comes after.

The veils themselves are weakening. Everyone knows my secret. Old wounds are forcing me to stop and face them. And now, I have more to fight for than the Lost. I’ve never had so much lose.

Betrayed
Raven Daughter Book 2

I was never supposed to go to the Between. I was never supposed to fall in love with Caius. And yet, I’ve done both. Since stepping through that portal, I’ve done a lot of things I never thought I would.
Like coming face-to-face with a god. Or encountering the one person in all the worlds I didn’t want to meet. Or having a fairy floor me with just a few words and realizing things are a lot more complicated than just stopping the Lost.

Everything is changing, secrets are revealed, and something that shouldn’t even be possible has become reality. I never imagined any of this could happen. My imagination was clearly lacking.

Unveiled
Raven Daughter Book 1

***Raven Daughter is a completed series of three books.

I’m Jo and the death of my mother revealed a whole lot of secrets she was keeping. Like the fact that my sperm-donor father was a freaking angel who couldn’t keep it in his pants and slept with a woman he should never have been with. Or the fact I’m not mortal and would one day be a reaper of souls.

Reaping souls, now there is something I never dreamed I would do, but here I am doing just that. Or at least I was, until souls started becoming Lost. And that’s when things went south.

When I stupidly agreed to help discover what was causing the Lost without reading the fine print first. Now a lot of immortals would like to see me dead because of what I might become. To top it off, I ended up blood bound to a powerful half-demon who is supposed to be a reaper’s sworn enemy. Funny thing is he may be the only one I can trust.

Warning: Although this series deals with angels and demons, there is nothing religious about them. Anyone looking for that within the pages of these books will be disappointed.

**This book is part of a series and ends on a cliffhanger.

Writer, mother, ruler of the world inside my head...mostly. I currently work and live on the plains of central Kansas with its gorgeous skies and fantastic storms. I have two sweet dogs and I'm owned by a cat who thinks she is a goddess that should be worshipped. When not reading or writing, I game and garden, I also take care of my large flock of incredibly spoiled chickens who in return, give me rather expensive free eggs.

New Review! Crownless by M.H. Woodscourt 5 Cranky Stars

CrownlessCrownless by M.H. Woodscourt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this amazing story. It was just enough different that I didn't feel like I was reading bits and pieces from other books which is common in this genre. It was also a "can't put down' type of story. The characters will steal your heart, especially little Rille.

KryTeer is the evil kingdom trying to conquer the world. The Blood Prince is the Emperor's son leading this campaign. Not everyone is who they appear to be and there are many surprises and twists to this story. Jinji is a wandering storyteller and plays a major role in this story. Magic is something forbidden and hidden in this world but it is present. I don't want to repeat all the characters as you can read their names in the synopsis at the listing for the book. The lands they travel through make you think of the Middle East with an Arabian Knights vibe to the country of KryTeer. Intrigue and mystery surround everything these characters encounter as we watch young Crown Prince Jetekesh of Amantier come into his own. He is stronger than his mother ever knew but at times you will want to reach out and slap him to tell him to grow up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and I think most other readers will too.

New Review! Ryder's Summit (Mountain Top #3) by Savannah Maris 5 Cranky Stars

Ryder's Summit (Mountain Top, #3)Ryder's Summit by Savannah Maris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 CRANKY STARS

This is the story of Ryder and Natalie. It is part of the Mountain Top Series but each book is a stand alone novel. Some of the characters overlap. For instance, this is Ryder's story. Ryder is the son of Blu. His mother died when he was born and he was raised by his father and his Uncle Smokey. They are a tight and loving family that live and work together. Ryder has graduated high school and is now in college. The story jumps between memories and present day to make the story cohesive. I love the way this author can grab your heart and make you feel one with the characters. Their anger and pain is your anger and pain. Their bad decisions make you yell at them. But in the long run, they feel as alive as your next door neighbor. Relationships are very complicated as Ryder is finding out. A love for his long time friend Becky has changed since high school and they find that they are two very different people now. When Natalie enters the scene, Ryder is thunder struck. The ups and downs of this new relationship and his life goals are suddenly very important.

You must read this great coming of age story that will keep you engaged until it is finished.

New Review! Eternal Curse (The Cursed Series #1) by Kara Leigh Miller 5 Cranky Stars

Eternal Curse (The Cursed Series, #1)Eternal Curse by Kara Leigh Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 CRANKY STARS

Why do I always find the books that are part of a series? This is book 1 of 6. I absolutely loved it.

It takes place in an area of New York State that I am very familiar with which made it even more enjoyable. The author does a great job of describing the area and it's waterfalls. The Adirondacks are a great place to set a novel of this type. Hint- vampires and witches! Our heroine just lost her mother in a car accident and since her birth father can't be found, she must relocate from Orlando, Florida to Keene Valley, New York. Talk about culture shock. Keene Valley kids go to school in one building that houses grades K through 12. Chloe is not happy she must live with her Aunt and Uncle. She has only met them once before now. Her cousin, Abby is just too bubbly and happy. But she has no other choice so she will make the best of it. Then to top it off, she must start a new school. She is almost eighteen and can't wait until that milestone so she can be independent. On the first day of school, she meets Trent. He is also a new student and gorgeous. Things are looking up for Chloe when he seems very interested in her. His brother, Jax is another story. Strange things start happening in the area and everyone at school is on edge.

I don't want to spoil this story. It was so good, I got the other five books loaded on my Kindle. You'll need tissues for this book, too. It is a tearjerker all the way through. I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

Alice has been afraid of the woods for as long as she can remember, but does not know why. Alice has been sickly and they moved to the country so she could get better. Alice had older and younger siblings. They did have neighbors but they were that close. There’s a General, General Tallmadge and he has a granddaughter who is also sickly and will be moving to his farm. Her name is Betsy. Another neighbor is The MacLachlans. They have issues with Alice's family thinking that they just want to have more and more. The MacLachlans son, Vernon, likes to wander off and Alice and one of her brother’s, Lester, saw him one day and took him home. Vernons mom thought they were trying to take him and got upset. Alice and Lester left and went home. That night, Vernons mom was out in front of Alice’s house screaming like a witch telling them to give her Vernon back. They tell her they do not have him but she keeps on. She curses them telling them that everyone of them will die one by one until her Vernon is returned to her.

Storms come and when lightning strikes someone dies in Alice’s family. 3 people die then one day the MacLachlans house burns down but the husband doesn’t make it out. Alice’s family offers to bury him and Flossie, Vernon's mom, give them a ten year reprieve.

Ten years later General Tallmadge has passed and his grandson has taken over his farm. Betsy is at the farm but still sick. Alice goes and stays at the farm to visit Betsy and meets Betsy's brother. When they go to town, they learn that Flossie is back…….What’s to happen now? Did they ever find Vernon? Will more of Alice’s family die because of the curse?

The book was good but it didn’t really have a lot of suspense or even romance or comedy. It was like “let’s give you a short background and get straight to it”. It needed more. There really wasn’t a plot. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone to else.

Constellations of ScarsConstellations of Scars by Melissa Eskue Ousley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For me, this was a very intriguing and quirky story. It takes place in Oregon outside of Portland on the ocean. It has strange little twists and turns that keep one guessing.

The story is about a young girl, Amelia, who is now twenty-one but has not left her house since she was 12. Her mother is very strict and has home schooled her. She feels that she is living in a prison of her mother's making and can't believe that it really is to protect her. You see, she has a unique talent. Magic rules her body every month. I won't tell you how because you need to read it for yourself. When she finally gets up the courage to escape, she goes on the adventure of a lifetime. Little does she know, that some of her mother's warnings will come true. Her first night in Portland, lands her in the bus station late at night. As everyone knows, bus stations are always in the scariest part of the cities. Of course, she is mugged within the first half hour and almost gives up. But this girl is tougher than one might think. With a strong will and perseverance, she plows ahead and ends up in Seaside, a small town on the ocean. She is mesmerized by sounds and smells of this tourist town. The characters she meets are like her and finally she feels as if she belongs.

A fun little story with a message, "be careful who you trust." If you want a whimsical adventure to just relax with and enjoy, this is the book for you.

Book Blitz! Make Me Wilder by Serena Bell

Make Me Wilder
Serena Bell
(Wilder Adventures, #1)
Publication date: May 20th 2021
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance

This tent is too small for the both of us. And I like it that way.

Gabe
I was minding my business. Literally. I promised my dad I’d take care of the Wilder family adventure business in our little Oregon town of Rush Creek, which also means looking out for my mom, my sister, and my rowdy co-workers, AKA my brothers.

Now the business is in trouble. Overnight, Rush Creek has become a spa-and-wedding destination, and the new tourists aren’t interested in getting dirty—or at least not in the woods.

Then Lucy comes to town, all blond hair and silky blouses and spike heels. It’s her job to give Wilder Adventures a makeover. Camping to glamping, rafting to paddle board yoga, fishing trips to girls’ night sunset cruises. If she gets her way, Wilder Adventures will become Wilder Romantic Adventures.

Lucy hates small towns, getting messy, and anything involving the woods or the water—which pretty much makes her Not My Type.

That doesn’t explain why when I see her, I can’t look away. Why when I touch her, I can’t stop. And why, even though I know no one can talk a city girl into small town life, I’m still trying.

She’s driving me wild. All I can do is make her wilder.

EXCERPT:

Here I am again, Mr. Fixer, with the fire-starter.

I still have ulterior motives, too. Not gonna lie. I like being her hero—I have since that first day with the ducks. Sometimes, like when I was cooking fish the other night, or when I was building my shelter earlier, I catch her watching me. With wonder in her eyes.

I’ve had women look at me that way before. But it’s different with her. Having someone I admire so much look at me like that cracks me open.

I feel like I’d do almost anything for that look in her eyes.

Plus, I like to mess with her.

“So, look, you want to put the drill rod in the opening, here—” I murmur. “And then apply just the right amount of pressure.”

I meet her eyes. They’re wide. Her cheeks are pink, too.

“You’re doing that on purpose.”

“Of course I’m doing it on purpose. I’m making a point. It’s all about the friction. And the technique.”

“Gabe,” she grumbles, but she traps her soft lower lip between her teeth, and her breath is quick.

“All that rubbing,” I murmur.

I watch the flush cover her throat, and hope the way I’m squatting conceals my raging erection.

“What’s basically happening here is that the two pieces of wood stop knowing where one ends and the other starts. Their molecules mix. And that’s combustion. Heat. Flame.”

On that note, the wood smolders and I tease it to life with my breath, adding tinder, fanning the flames.

Of course, I narrate what I’m doing, too, checking to make sure she’s with me.
The flush, and the way she’s torturing that soft lip, tells me she is.

“What did I say?” I tell her. “Stick with me, and you’ll be just fine.”

“Or dead from sexual frustration,” she mutters.

I grin. “Stay patient, baby.”

“You know I only brought one change of underpants, right?”

“I can’t help it if you underestimated me,” I tell her.

She turns a shade pinker, and I get to test out how hard it’s possible to become without being touched.

Everyone seems like they are out of place, like they don’t fit in or belong. For McKenna, she really didn’t belong. She thought it was because she had two dads. Nope. McKenna is special. She is a super being born and reborn, known as The Wise One. She doesn’t know it at first. She is just turning 18yrs old and of course that’s when everything starts to happen. She meets a friend, Nissa who helps her along her way along with some faeries, water horse, and other mythical beings. She also meets a gentle by the name of Cillian whom she is weary about at first then grows to like. He is working for the High Priestess who wants McKenna to know who she is and was so that some sacred scrolls can be read and McKenna can fulfill the prophecy. McKenna must also find her mother, Abby who is also very special. Together they are to fulfill the prophecy. McKenna goes to Ireland to try to find her mother. She ends up at Ballycastle where she meets Esme who helps her find and control some of her powers. McKenna eventually learns to Astral Project and finds her mom who tells her to come to her.

What happens next???? Not sure but I’d like to find out when the book comes out. I would recommend this book, it's good once it gets going and keeps you guessing.

New Review! Rattlesnake Road (A Small Town Mystery Romance) by Amanda McKinney 5 Cranky Stars

Rattlesnake Road (A Small Town Mystery Romance)Rattlesnake Road by Amanda McKinney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 CRANKY STARS

This book was a pleasant surprise. It's a love story with a hint of the paranormal. The characters are endearing and the setting realistic.

Our heroine catches her hubby cheating one too many times. She's an alcoholic and tells everyone off at her awards ceremony. Can life get any lower? Well, of course it can. She is fired from her job. Not to worry though, she has a plan, sort of. Off she goes to a small southern town where she has bought a house over the internet. What she finds after driving for three days is not what she expected. She is the new girl in town and stands out with her big city ways. This place is nothing like New York City. Luckily, her cousin has lived there for years so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Lots of surprises are found in this house. Is there a ghost in the house? She hears strange giggles and doors open and close randomly.

This is a fantastic story but you need a box of tissues handy so you can cry along with the heroine. Her new life is very bumpy and not easy for a determined alcoholic trying to recover. Of course, the mechanic down the road isn't too bad either. A must read for romance and paranormal geeks.

New Review! A Beast So Cold (Beauty and The Beast #2) by Beena Khan 5 Cranky Stars

A Beast So Cold (Beauty & The Beast, #2)A Beast So Cold by Beena Khan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Cranky Stars

This is the second book in the Beauty and the Beast series; and it features our favorite twisted couple Vlad and Dahlia. If you haven’t read the first book, STOP right now and go read it. This book picks up immediately where the first one left off. Vlad is out for revenge and he will stop at nothing to get back what he wants. Come hell or highwater, he is getting the love of his life and he is getting the vengeance that he seeks.

This story tap danced on my feelings; I’m still shook from the ending of the first book. Dahlia, my dear girl you did Vlad dirty. You have some work to do to regain his trust. She has a job to do and that is to take down Salvi Moretti (remember him from the first book?). I loved how dark and twisted this story was especially when it came to Vlad and Dahlia. They love each other but they are toxic.

I loved how the author made the characters seem so unredeemable, then page by page, she lets us in on what makes them tick. The plot was amazing. The story was beautifully written, and well I cannot wait to read the next book. Dahlia is one of the strongest and most determined female characters I have ever read and I love that. If you like dark mafia romance stories, then this one is for you. I definitely and wholeheartedly recommend this series to dark romance lovers.
